On May 31, 2025, Open Land Sangha held its first Lay precepts ceremony, with Rev. Eric Daishin McCabe of Zenfields in Ames, Iowa. On either side of Daishin are the Teijun ("one of rectitude") and Seido ("Life Way"), the preceptees.
